'Coffin' opens for indie shingle
'Envy'Independent financier and production company Kerry Kimmel and Pollack has teamed with Eric Thompson's Vigilante Entertainment to get feature film and TV privileges to Gregg Olsen's youthful adult series "Empty Coffin." KK&P and Vigilante will co-finance and co-produce the very first title within the series, "Envy," a paranormal thriller that follows twin siblings Hayley and Taylor Ryan because they attempt to solve the mystery all around the dying of the friend. The women use their talents to resolve the crime and along the way, identify the origin that belongs to them forces.
KK&P's Boss Michael Pollack and prexy Mark Morgan ("The Twilight Saga") will produce with Eric Thompson, Brett Hudson and Kami Garcia.
"The fabric is sharp, funny and eerie," stated Thompson, who just created the indie horror pic "Rituals of Spring." "It's edgy with protagonists who're present day teen sleuths having a large family secret." Production is skedded to begin in fall 2012. Olsen is really a NY Occasions best-selling author and "Empty Coffin" is his first youthful adult series. Sterling Publishing's Splinter label released "Envy," which hit U.S. shelves in September and was launched within the U.K. a week ago.KK&P, which lately acquired Marcus Sedgwick's novel "Whitened Crow," is placed to begin production the following month around the Hansel and Gretel tale "Black Forest," which stars Lara Flynn Boyle, Michael Welch and Molly Quinn.
